In the year of 1934 a man named Adolf Hitler came into power, in 1941 he managed to start a genocide that would go down in history as one of the worst genocides ever. How did this happen? There are many things that happened that made it possible for him to start this. There where lots of people that played a big role in this event. Hitler did something terrible and the question that everyone asks is, how did he do it?
It all started when Hitler had gained complete power of Germany. He started the campaign against them, saying that they were corrupt, portraying them as evil and cowardly people. He claimed that the Jews had weakened Germanys economy and culture. He started light and slowly added on to his campaign. Saying these things got the citizens of the German nation on his side. Whether or not the actually believed it or were agreeing out of fear they were now pro Hitler.
Once Hitler had the nation on his side, he started to isolate them from the German society. It started with just little stuff like burning books written by Jews and not going to stores owned by the Jews. Then it got bigger banning Jewish children from schools and banning them from public events. There were many attempts by the Jews to flee Germany and for a while it worked, but then other countries didn’t allow anymore of them because of over population.
Things started to get a lot worse when in September of 1939 Germany invaded Poland. The Germans started to form ghettoes where the Jews were confined. The concentration of the Jews would aid the Nazis and Hitler for when they started to deport them to death camps. The ghettoes lacked a lot of essential things like food, water, and sanitation. This caused a lot of Jews to die from starvation.
Then came the final solution, the Nazis started to create concentration camps and death camps. The concentration camps were more of labor camps; the Jews were put to work to help the war effort. The death camps were where most of the killing happened. When the arrived at the death camps they were stripped of all there possessions, put in gas chambers where they were killed, and then the bodies where burned.
The time period was from 1939-1945 that it happened, and the number of Jews killed ranges from 3-6 million. Hitler made it happen and he had a process of making it happen. All in all, Hitler, political leader of Germany (1939-1945) carried out his manifest of taking over the world as he led one of the largest genocides in history now known as the Holocaust.
